New to the forum, but not new to XJ's. I've got 5 XJ's in the garage right now. Currently I am looking for a good engine for my 82 XJ750 Maxim. I don't need the carbs if that helps, but I do need the motor to have been a good runner and the transmission good. hopefully I can find one of you in the Portland Metro area as I live close to there. I am not opposed to driving a little distance to pick one up.

    thanks!

Wish that by the time i shipped it here, it would be more expensive than the whole bike is worth. But thank you anyhow.

I've got a motor that looks intact sitting in my garage from an 82 xj750 maxim. I never had it checked for compression or took it apart because my bike is running fine. No idea on the history, just came with my bike from the PO. I live in Bellingham, WA and do make my way down the coast once in a while. In fact I will be heading through Portland in August (two times for sure) and can bring it along. PM me and I will get photos for you.

The speedo that came with it had 40k on it.
