Hello everyone. Long time no hear due to me having new job and not enough time to work on bike. Now managed to find a bit of time and I have a little question. carbs on my bike has been rebuilt from scratch with new mixture screws, rejetted and pod filters installed, carbs has been balanced but between 4k and 5k revs it struggle to get power. as soon it reaches 5k revs it goes like rocket up to 11k. I know that this is due to too much air intake at that revs and I really don't mind that but I want to move that tendency to 5-6k revs. any ideas how to do that?

general consensus of opinion, would be that its the pods that's causing it ,if you still have the original "carb to airbox" boots , then you could try fitting them between the carbs and the pods, apparently the vacuum formed in the extra venture, would be enough to operate the sliders more smoothly.

As Bensalf (basically) said, you have pod bog. Even with rejetting, and using an intake runner between the filters and the carb throat, you can't entirely get rid of it (though rports state that it's worlds better than just running pods alone). If you want it gone you will need to reinstall the factory airbox.

Update is as follows. Fitted air box back but without air filter cos I haven't got one at the moment. Rode bike as it is and it still struggling to go over 4k revs and also idle at about 3k revs and can't bring it down. Carbs has been rejetted for pod filters but I think I will have to put back the old main jets.

Yes you will. And get a filter before you end up needing to replace the rings.

    Hello again folks.
Sorry for delay in this post ( didn't sold my bike yet) changing job now and have a shit lots of exams to deal with.
Anyway. As I have mentioned above I did fitted air box back with new filter, bike runs shit. I have to mention that with pod filters and carbs rejetted and balanced I have managed 45 miles on 18 litres of fuel. I took the carbs out pissed off because I am doing this 16th time now and I wanted to see what size main jets are. Well they're big. 132.5 exactly. I had new 112 so fitted them and bike is far better behaving now but still hesitate between 4 and 5k Rev, very gently though. Over 5 k goes like a rocket. I think Carbs need to be balanced again due to change of main jets. I am considering removing air box and putting pods back again.??? Also I have to say that bike don't idle when cold. When engine is hot it does idle.
