Hello everyone. Whenever I lift up my centre stand I have to be extra careful otherwise it will dent my new pipes. I know a part is missing but it only dawned on me today to ask if anyone knows how to fabricate and install a stopper for the stand.

There is a rubber bumper on the left muffler (if you have the stock exhaust system). That is what the center stand rests against when folded.

When I bought it last year it was already an after market exhaust and it was badly dented from that stand. I got new Emgo long
pipes and would like them to last! What type of rubber and glue could I use that could withstand the heat?

on my 4 to 1 exhaust for a 550 to keep the center stand from hitting the exhaust an L bracket is mounted on the left side foot peg bracket to hold down the center stand.
do not know if that will work for you

for a rubber plug you could drill out one from a car tire with a hole saw drill. that way it would be circular and have a mounting hole

or you could just buy the part
this one goes on the collector
    Damper, Muffler 36Y-14747-00-00 $11.25

    Stopper, Main Stand
    1A0-27114-00-00 $8.81 or use this

but none of them are actualy in direct contact with the muffler as you can see here

Thanks for the detailed info xj55oh. I should have waited for this before proceeding with...
gluing a chopped up in-line skate brake ( big rubber thing) with Permatex High Tack gasket sealer
left over from my winter valve job on my seca 750 directly on the left muffler. Will it hold?

I would go the other direction and attach it to the center stand.
I do not think the gasket sealer will with stand the heat of the exhaust
