Heyo fantastic forum buds. Well, I finally got time and money to try and repair this bike but it seems as if more and more things have been unleashed on it by the three witches of ignition. I feel as if the TCI is bad, ignition coil plug caps and the pick up coils color's don't seem to match the stock wire harness white ones. Most importantly, no spark. Any idea why?

Which bike? You should add it to your signature so we can stop asking.

Haha wow my bad, overlooked it. XJ550. I just checked this new wire harness in hopes that most of the gremlins came from the old one because it was all chopped up and found that my GREY and R/W wires have continuity from the start of the TCI to the coil. ORANGE and R/W don't. Assuming that something it torn between the harness?

Right coil currently shows no signs of Ohms between the secondary coil yet when I remove the cap I get around 11k Ohms between the bare copper. Is it fine if I have one coil working for now to find the problem between the pick up coils and the TCI and find the issue by swapping that one coil over plugs?

the spark plug caps have resistors inside of them
the pick up coils share a common black wire and the orange and gray colors. pick ups do fail the plug from the tci goes all the way to the pickups and is part of the assembly
    XJ550 models:
    Pick-up coils:
    650 ohms +/- 20% = 520 ohms to 780 ohms acceptable range
    Ignition Coils:
Primary side (input from main wiring harness):
    2.5 ohms +/- 10% = 2.25 ohms - 2.75 ohms acceptable range
Secondary side (spark plug wires, without their end caps):
    11K ohms +/- 20% = 8,800 ohms - 13,200 ohms acceptable range
    Spark plug caps:
    10K +/- 20% = 8,000 to 12,000 ohms per cap acceptable range
    Spark plugs:
    0 ohms per plug

if you think your TCI is bad, if you send it to me I will test it in my 550.
