The moment this event ended last year, I've been counting the days until it came back again.

It was the first year I attended, and I plan on making it back every year, as long as I can still sling a leg over a motorcycle. Unlike any event I've seen, just great.

It was a near-miss with BaldWonder last year, hopefully this year we meet up.

The event will be held July 8-10, 2016 this year in Lexington, Ohio at the Mid-Ohio track.

I'll be racing motocross in the 50+ class...125cc with an 1980 YZ125 and open class on a 1974 CZ 400 (which I hope to have race ready by then).

Racing...well, it will probably be more like trying to make it around the track without getting too badly hurt...haha.

The idea is to get these old vintage bikes off the trailer (trailer queens) and back on the track.

Throw an old runner in the back of your pickup truck, or pick one up while you are there, the swap meet is huge and there are a lot of bikes for sale. I'll be there early, probably on the 7th and I'll post my campsite number here.

If you've never been...go, if you've been before you'll know what I mean. It's truly a different event.

Post here if you are going, thanks. This is a great group and it would be great to meet up with a few, or many of you.

Sounds like a real hoot of an event.
My new life on the farm will most likely keep me really close to The Hill this summer.
Best of luck on your races, wear the proper gear, keep her tight in the corners and twist that throttle! :p

Will watch for post event pictures. . .

Man, now you got me cruising CL for old dirt bikes. I learned on 60's and 70's bike in a farm field. Would love to rock something old school again in the mud. Got a line on a SL100, we'll see how that goes.

I'm a little out of the way but if you want to break up your trip, hang out in the garage and crash for a night shoot me a PM.

Oh no! You've got the itch! Haha.

I love those old SL100's from the early 70's! Trouble is, everyone's going to want to ride it :)

Thanks for the invite, one of my favourite things to do is hang out in a garage with a fellow enthusiast, but I'll probably be bee-lining it there and back as I'll be hauling a trailer full of motorbikes.

Try to make it! :) show off and ride whatever you come up with on Craig's list.

I don't know if you've been to this event, but everyone zips around all day long on their motorbikes. Everything from Mini bikes to Maicos to Moto-Guzzi's. Mostly dirt bikes, which is a nice change from almost all other vintage events.

The nostalgia just drips off these old dirt bikes you remember from your youth.

There was a guy zipping around on a Can-Am black widow last year, and another riding a Rokon automatic.

Bultacos, pentons, rickman, greelys, Ossa, CZ, and every variety of early top 4 Japanese makes.

People even go shopping at the swap area without getting off their bikes. It's really something.

Then there is the events, the mist important being the vintage MX, haha.

Trials. Hare scrambles and a vintage road race on the paved track.

Loads of motorbikes for sale there too if you haven't found one by then.

I have not been but I am really looking forward to it. You camping? Should be a blast. I don't currently have anything to bomb around in the mud but that can be remedied. I miss the days of picking up old bikes for a C note or two.

That's great you are thinking of attending!

Yes, I'll be camping, there are many spots available.

Nothing fancy, just a tent, cook stove, cooler and a toolbox.

Oh, and a box of bandaids in case I suffer a boo-boo while pretending to be a racer :)

I wasn't there, but two summers ago, the owner of my local Yamaha dealer (who loves vintage dirt bikes) brought a dozen motorbikes back with him that he had purchased at the event.

I'm doing the opposite, bringing three to sell and two to race.

Mind you, if I see a restorable Husqvarna, Can-Am, Maico, Bultaco, CZ, Hodaka, YZ/MX, KX, RM or CR, I may be coming back with as many bikes as I left with! :)

Who knows? Might even find a DKW, a Greeves or an AJS Stormer, there was such variety back then.

I'm more than thinking, it's on the calendar. There's always the chance something will come up with the boys sports or family but I should be there. Hopefully I'll have something to race! I haven't done that in 18 years, would be a great time.

Awesome, have fun! I have to miss this year, our local summerfest landed on the same weekend. Kids love it and we have a bunch of friends stay with us. Don't forget the pics!
