I need some help successfully chopper wiring this baby. I thought i had this hooked up right, sparks and backfires, but won't turn over. Fried some wires over the weekend but never moved spark plugs or changed wires to coils. I just don't know what I'm missing. 11692783_392885937588164_2214924346149885179_n.jpg

If the engine si spinning then it's turning over. If it has spark and backfires the only electrical problem would be realted to ignition timing, and ignition timing is not adjustable on these machines.

I see that you have no filters and no mufflers.

These clues lead me to conclude that you have a fuel problem (aside from the wires you fried, those shold be looked at. Can you post up your wiring diagram?). Namely you are too lean.

Did you rejet? More importantly, did you save the factory airbox?

I have cone filters,I've put in bigger jets and have baffles welded under the exhaust tips. As retarded as it sounds,I had the coil wires from the igniter going to the wrong coils, lol and i found the short at the taillights. Fixed and fixed, runs and charges great, thanks for your help.

Everyone does little dumb stuff. Have you ever rebuilt a distributor only to find out that the vacuum line to the advance diaphram had a hole in it?

Glad that you got it sorted.

    Now for more dumb stuff.
Have you checked the valve clearances?
