Found a 1982 XJ1100 Maxim in a barn in NW Ohio. Bike was last registered in 1996 and put in barn late summer early fall. Bike was just pulled out and will be a project going forward. Any technical help would be appreciated.

It has a lot in common with the XS1100, so you will find a lot of good info at XS11.com too.

Was told that it ran like a scalded dog in 1996 then put in barn and forgot about. Haven't been able to get it down to the shop yet but it cleaned up really nice after I sprayed it off.

Looked like paint fell off. Im sure it had a fuel leak and the tank is more than likely toast.

Have a real good look. If need be it can be lined with epoxy. Good tanks are getting expensive.

Doubt badges will stay, along with backrest, seat, front end, rear shocks and brakes. Thinking about an inverted front end

Yea I know the cap is seized and I've seen maxims with king tanks mounted to them. So it gave me an idea I'm going to try
