Hi , this has been probably asked before , but could not find anything in forum searches . I,m not a big fan of the anti-dive forks , and was wondering if there is a direct replacement off another yamaha that will allow the use of the original front wheel and calipers . On the previous '84 xj900 project , I used the forks of an '85 xj900N , but these are getting a bit rare these days . Eager to hear any info on this , cheers , Murray

You may also keep your '83 forks and disconnect the anti-dive device by removing the two short hoses and using two blind plugs. Then you would like to use a little but more air pressure and heavier fluid in the forks.

Thanks for the reply . I would like to get rid of the anti dive forks altogether , dont like the look of them and the air assist is a PIA , particularly if you,ve ridden an xj900 with non a/assist forks ,works so much better.
