Mystery metal in my clutch

    Found these two pieces of metal in the clutch basket of my 1980 650. Any idea where they came from?

    In case the pic doesn't work it looks like a couple of paper clips that are pretty mangled

    look for the pieces.
    drain oil through a screen look at magnet on drain plug. remove filter see what you find
    use a magnet probe into the drain hole see what you find.

    The retaining clip in 550's pic is holding the clutch boss plate in position. It is a separate plate from the friction and plain plates.
