carb idle adjustment

    okay, you guys are a wealth of information so im going to keep going to the well...

    how do you adjust the idle adjustment screw when your tweaking the bike's idle?

    not only can i NOT reach it, i cant SEE it...

    Dave, I reach under there and push the knurled nut with the tips of my fingers, works for me

    I use a long flatblade screw driver, you should be able to see the adjuster from the left side of the bike just under the carb to airbox boots about half a inch from the float bowls.

    this is kind of what i was thinking but hey, there was some genius responses to the carb/airbox boots so i thought maybe id get some great ideas for this too...

    If you are doing initial tuning ... (I know you are) ... have a bright kid who can reach-in and turn the knurl do so. And give him complete directions as he adjusts it for you.

    It's going to be easy. I ran a Tap through the threads and installed a washer behind the spring. That Idle Rod will turn easier than winding an old wristwatch!

    i dont know any kids who are old enough to know what im talking about. my daughter is one of the very oldest in the neighborhood and shes only 6...
