shim help please

    Ok friends. Here are my numbers. What shims do I need? Thanks in advance.

    All numbers in millimeters

    intake
    1 .12 255
    2 .02 260
    3 .11 260
    4 .10 260

    exhaust
    1 .11 270
    2 .11 265
    3 .12 260
    4 .12 265


    wonder why #2 intake so much tighter than others. Double checked it.

    Dosen't matter much. Only the Maxim X has different clearances.

    3 .11 260 in spec
    4 .10 260 needs a 255

    exhaust
    1 .11 270 needs a 265
    2 .11 265 needs a 260
    3 .12 260 needs a 255
    4 .12 265 needs a 260

    Use #2 intake in #2 exhaust
    Use #4 intake in #4 exhaust
    Use #2 exhaust in #1 exhaust

    The one tight intake is probably down to a PO not figuring shim swaps correctly, but I'd keep an eye on it and check clearances in 2,500 miles instead of waiting another 5,000. The #1 and #3 intakes might need new shims early anyway.

    thanks kmoe. original owner so Yamaha dealer calculated wrong since I know for certain when and who did the last adjustment :-(.
    This is my first time doing it thanks to this site. It has been 12000 miles since last done.

    glad I checked here, I was reading the substitution chart bassackwards and it didn't make sense. now I know why!
