    Wanna check valve clearance on my xj750...any tips? How do I know I'm at tdc. Cuz I have to be at that correct.? Any hints of suggestions would be amazing

    +1 on using the wire. I use a 12 ga insulated wire way better than zip ties.

    read the link on how to do it .
    you will be rotating the engine to different positions for each valve be very very careful not to damage the pickup coils.
    you have to remove the left(as you sit on the bike) side crank cover
    also under that cover is the pointer for TDC, but TDC has nothing to do with checking valves

    use metric feeler gauge KD tols 2274 metric feeler gauge any auto parts store can order it for you
