    (Or something)

I've been poking around here for several years now and I just now decided to sign up. The last time I was on here must have been over a year ago or so...so what is up with the new changes I see? When did this occur?
Are the same people here from before?
I remember this one fella I liked to read from, he had a picture of daffy duck as his icon, and he was a master in the forum. Is he still around??
I have a couple of things to post, but they belong in a different forum, but I will share them quickly to see if any older folks/longer users can recommend an already posted threads to read off. I tried searching, but with no luck.
    1) Front tire is locked up. Been sitting for over a year, tried movin' her around and the front tire is all locked up.
    2) Clutch stuck in 1st. Had changed oil shortly before incident. First it wouldn't switch from 4 to 5 (while on interstate) had to climb down to 3rd, then go up through 4 to 5. Got home, next time I started it wouldn't come out of first.

I will post these questions in more detail in TechnicalChat. This is just for a quick reference looking for a previous post if anyone knows of one.
Also, I don't know many people who tinker around with bikes. I live in Northwest Iowa and Central Iowa (yup) How do I go about finding folk who really know what they're doing?
    Thank you

Welcome. I find the best way to search the forum is by using Google. Start your search with xjbikes followed by whatever you are looking for and you will find what you need.

Front wheel locked up makes me think the master cylinder needs a rebuild.

The oil we use in these bikes is very important. Look for a post by k-moe and read the link he has on his signature line about oil for wet clutch bikes. It's a really good read.

Big Fitz is/was one of my favorites as well. He's done some fantastic write ups that I have printed in color and followed step by step (clutch and petcock to name a few). There are some other wizards here who are just amazing with their knowledge of these bikes. This is by far the most helpful and pleasant website I have ever read.
