image.jpeg As stated above, parting out my 750. Bike is 100% complete but not all parts are in the best condition. It would be easier for me to reply to specific part requests with the part's condition than to go down the entire list in this post. I'm in Dover, Delaware and will ship. I'm not trying to make a ton of money here so tell me what you need and make an offer based on the condition of the part.

    Notables:

I have a Battery Tender battery with the tender cord that was installed but has never actually been used - asking $100. Battery and cord together retail for about $120 iirc.

New in box stainless steel brake lines (Galfer) purchased on eBay for about $100. Would like to break even so asking $100 shipped.

    Thanks for looking

What kind of shape is the main wiring harness in? How much would you want for it?

I noticed you were looking for the 82 750 harness in other posts. The 83 750 harness does not have the extra wiring for the 82 electronic gauge pod, and other sensors required for the bike.

I was going to ask about an upper fork tube. I notice you only have one disc up front. The 83 750 has two, the 650 has one like the picture. Are you sure it's a 1983 750?

The bike is definitely an 83 750 Maxim. The side cover, seat, and grab bar show that. The OP never responded to my inquiry and has not been back on since posting this.

No, sorry, "very obviously a 750 Maxim" would have a double disc up front. This one doesn't, so it's not obviously a 750.
It can be, but it's not obviously. The only reason I noticed was because all the years on this forum, this has come up again and again. The 750 has two discs up front. If I had to guess, I'd say it's a 750, but the last two times it was pointed out, it turned out they found out it was a 650. That's why I asked, because this has happened before.

There are other things that distinguish the 750 from the 650. The front ends are direct swap but most of the other distinguishing parts are not swappable.

Not sure what you mean by "front end." I know the forks are different on a 650 then a 750.

I mean the forks. they are a direct swap, wheels, brakes and all.

750 stuff--- tank, mufflers, seat, grab rail, side covers, air box covers, tail light, shocks, peg mounts, larger rear brake cover ...... The gauge style and head light tells us it's an '83-- '82 had the square stuff.

650 Maxim had 1 disc, but 65orj had 2 discs

Obvious to everyone else that it's a 750 maxim

The right side forks are different between 650 and 750 only because the 750 fork can accept the caliper. If the whole front is swapped for a 650, yes, it would look like this, but it also gives woefully inadequate braking

Actually, the fork inside is different. It's not the same with just the part where the disc hooks onto different. It's different inside. I can't use a upper for tube off a 650, because it's different then a 750.

That I did not know......of course, usually, when someone does the front upgrade, they DO swap the whole 750 front onto the 650. As an aside..... The 750 Maxim front can be swapped with the 750 Seca front, depending on what you want/need to do regarding the anti-dive stuff.

The 650 fork tubes are also approx 1" shorter than the 750 tubes.

How much are you asking for the gauge cluster I'm building my bobber and when I bought the bike it had no gauges at all and the wiring was a mess?
