Valve Clearance 1982 650J

I' getting conflicting information in regards to valve clearance

specifically for 1982 650J

Haynes manual states (0.006-0.008 in) for both Intake and Exhaust for 1982 650 J only while others say that

all 650 have same values:
Intake valve clearance (cold):0.11-0.15 mm(0.004 ~ 0.006in)
Exhaust valve clearance (cold):0.16--0.20 mm(0.006-0.008in)

When I measured valves on my bike last night (briefly) it resembles set up:
Intake valve clearance (cold):0.11-0.15 mm(0.004 ~ 0.006in)
Exhaust valve clearance (cold):0.16--0.20 mm(0.006-0.008in)

What is correct valve spec specifically for 1982 650j maxim?

 

haynes is wrong

all 650 have same values:

is correct

 

The left sidecover has a sticker. That is the correct value.

this is the part from "Haynes" that got me confused.

 

Ya. It's a 30 year-old editing error that is in all of the manuals (Clymer and Yamaha too) and will never be fixed.
The shim table for the xj650J is wrong too,

 

+1. Haynes also has the air jets below the diaphragms incorrectly labeled.
