OK so I know this as been covered plenty of times so my apologies in advance.

Also I've been on this forum for quite some bit and just recently made an account.

Minimal wiring harness no sensors what so ever.

Problem I'm having is that the bike (82 xj750) turned on first try and stayed/ drove with no problems at all.

Took off the wiring (micky moused) job but worked fine.

And now that I wired it the same way just safer with fuse block still no sensors or relays.
    Doesn't want to crank over.

funny part is that I took out the battery first then wiring and finished cleaning it up in less than a couple hours.

lights turn on, when i would press the start button the voltage would drop lights would dim solenoid clicked a bit.
    Battery went completely dead.

So now I unhook everything and just wiring the battery to the solenoid to the start with a start button and still no turn over just click and battery would just drop to 0 again after a full charge?

    any suggestions?

A voltage drop to 0.00 volts upon attempting to start indcates a very faulty battery.

Recheck your voltage regulator/rectifier wiring before hooking up a new battery. With the new battery check the voltage with the engine running at idle, at 2,500 RPM, and at 4,000 RPM. Your battery may have died from natural causes, but it also may have been taken out by the charging circuit.

I tried just hooking up the battery with the solenoid to start with a push start button still no crank just click

Went to charge a battery autozone volts where 12.6. When I clicked the start just dropped to 0. tried 3 battery's same thing.

So I'm guessing it's the starter?

just confused on how could it mess up if all it took was a couple hours to remove hold harness and make a new (safer) one.

good rule of thumb if it was working and you fixed something then it does not work.
    REcheck your work
if you disconnected the wire at the starter you could have compromised the bolt insulation

Yea I stripped the whole wiring and restarting again with just the bare minimum to get the bike cranking and started. once / if it does then I'll start with the lights and turn signals after.

At first I didn't unhook the starter wire, after I couldn't figure out why it didn't crank I replace all ground think wires including the starter wire. So I'll post update when I finish don't have time to work on the bike.

Also charging both battery's I have 1 is like 3 months old and another is 1 day old.
