New to XJ! I have a 84 Fj600 and need top end help!

    I need to find out how to set the timing. I just replaced the timing chain and had the top end redone.
    Any help would be great.

    come on guys all i need to know is where the timing marks need to be on the cam sprockets. I don't have the repair manaul.
    What to have the bike running by this weekend.

    Try the chat area, this is for 'other' bikes than XJs so people don't visit much. You have a FJ but try it anyway in chat... I had an XS and they helped me a lot.

    to line up the cams put the pointer on T (left side of crank) and time the cams so that the dot is facing up at the center cam cap. It will be the cam cap that is a bearing surface not the other center cap which is a hold down for the cam cover.
    I think there is a write up in here already on how to do it, Its pretty much the same for all of the aircooled xj motors. Ok I know its the same for the seca 550 and the turbo 650 and the FJ or FZ 600 motor.

    BTW did you still need the pod filters?
