Hey guys I found a Maxim X for sale here in Morristown, TN. The guy wants 1500 firm and it doesn't book for that high. It's in great shape. Only very minimal rust. I snapped a quick cell phone pic of it. I really like it and the guy let me take it for a quick ride. Wow! Really smooth and more comfortable than my Seca. Who here has experience with Maxim X's, and do you think it's worth it?

So where's the pictures of the MaxX?
    How many miles?
    Tire condition?

1500.00 dont buy much bike these days, if it's sweet then sounds like a great deal.

Remember MaxX is getting harder to find.......at least in my part of the woods they are.

In my market seems like the XJ bikes go for well above book. I am suspicious of the book frankly.

If it's as good as you say, then it sounds like it's worth the money to me. Sure you MAY find one cheaper down the road, but then again you may not. In the meantime, how much fun are you going to have on this one, and how much is that fun worth to you? :)

I just bought a 1985 XJ700xnc and it became the love of my life the moment I rode it. The power is amazing and with the highway pegs it is super comfortable.

I think you could talk him down a bit though. Mine has 21,000 miles and is in MINT condition and I got it for $1200 in California. If you can afford it, I say go for it, you will not regret it. It's an amazing bike.

It has 30,000 on it. It's still sitting there for sale, so I think I'll let it sit for a while and maybe he will come down a little.

Pgh, I'll still hang on to the Seca if I buy the Maxim X. It's been living outside for a while and I just moved so it gets to live indoors now. I want to polish it up real nice. :)

Maxim X is a good bike for that price. I would pay more then that for a good running one.
