Im in the process of building a couple bikes. One is a 1982 xj550 that I've hardtailed and made sort of a rat bike out of it. The second is just a rolling 82 xj550 frame. I have a good running Kawasaki zx6r motor that I'd like to put on the xj frame. But my problem is frame design between the two. The ninja motor fits between the frame on the kawi and it will have to fit in between the back bone and bottom rails. I can handle that. So the main problem are radiator, which I have figured out and the other is fuel pump. The zx6r if efi. It is an intank fuel pump. Its mounted vertically. I was wondering if it has to be mounted vertically or could it be mounted at about a 45° angle. Plus any constructive criticism would be appreciated

That particular question would best be asked on a KAwasaki forum since the fuel pump comes from one. I can say that you might need to look into using an exernal fuel pump, as that will free you to use whatever fuel tank you like.

some in-tank pumps are cooled by the gas, if it's tilted that might not work as well.

OK thank guys. You may be able to help with this question I know the psi the in tank pump is (42psi). I've found an inline electric pump for $90 on summitracing.com with a free flow rate of 43gph at max psi of 45. Would 3psi more hurt or would I need an adjustable fuel pressure regulator? I have only found one adjustable from 40- 60psi inline for $150 just to adjust 3psi. It is a returnless type system. It has 8 injectors 4 on the TBs and 4 more dirrectly above the TBs in the air box. The secondaries kick in at a certain RPM or under a load, if I remember what I've read correctly.sorry I drag the questions on just want to give all the info I can and don't want to join another forum just for a couple questions you guys could probably answer. Thanks in advance.

3 more PSI shouldn't hurt anything, but you may find that you need to use a Power Commander or similar tuning device to dial the fuel map in since the higher fuel pressure will effect the spray pattern somewhat.
Again, your powerplant isn't from an XJ so our answers are going to be fairly general in nature A Kawasaki forum would be a better choice for the powerplant side of things.
