    hi there,
I bought an xj750 seca and the PO poured two stroke synyhetic motor oil and WD40 in the cylinders to unstick an engine that wasn't actually stuck. I turned it over at the crank shaft and got it running.

She blows white smoke like crazy. Should I let it burn off or take other measures to clean the cylinders. Any worry of glazing?

Also of note, it idles at about 2000 despite the choke being off and idle screw turned down. Calves are properly adjusted and carbs came off a running bike that is exactly the same including jet size.

    Cheers,

    Aaron

    Let her run.

Check for air leaks on the carb to engine boots. Check the rubber caps on the boots as well. They can get hard and not seal on the nipples. Use a propane (unlit) torch to verify any possible vacuum leaks.

^^ what he said. Also check that the throttle cable is not sticking, is fully seated, and for laughs go ahead and disconnect it just to see if the problem goes away.

^^ again it's easy to miss a poorly seated cable and mind out for those 'junior steers..'

"Junior steers"? Is that a reference to their "properly adjusted calves", or something I'm missing?
