Had to put on some forward pegs and modify the brake pedal cause I can't bend my right leg much . From a crash a few years back 20160521_200305.jpg swapped rear shocks from a savage lowering 2 inches . Smoothed out tank made new gas cap . To my eye, the pad on the tractor seat with square pad looks a little odd, but I'd ride it. Also, the space between the seat and the tank...

There ae padded covers meant for tractor seats. Getting one would greatly improve the look.

I am kind of getting tired of the bobber thing. It's like every other thread on here is about a bobber. That's just me, though.

Purely in terms of design on this:

The brick of a pad on the seat looks goofy. What the guys said - get a proper pad for that seat.
The side panels - the gaps between them and the frame front and bottom look weird. Especially at the front.

Having a tube over the fender stub connecting the frame ends in the back would make it look nicer to me. Or, some other way of dressing frame stubs.

What's up with the long hardware-store spring next to the clutch cover?

If you like it that is all that counts , does not matter what anyone says!! I personally like a stock bike or "lightly" modified , but that is me.

Hey Dobbie, have you looked up drive shaft deflection on here? The universal joint when stock is at the correct/optimum angle for proper operation. Dropping it two inches will affect it negatively.
Do you actually ride this on the street?

I'd ride it, minus the tractor seat. One thing I love about bikes is their owners and making their bikes theirs.

Your exhaust looks decent on that. I spent almost a year searching out good original exhaust parts for my 82 resto, please don't hack those up. These are just old enough that some parts are getting very scarce.

A clutch cable from an 82 Seca is 7" shorter, that will cure the goofy clutch cable look. Chacal (Len) on here has both OEM and aftermarket ones available. You can re route your original choke and throttle cable to suit.

Thanx 4 the imput. Used the rear shocks of my wife's savage which I've read is commonly done.and let all the air out the forks. I do ride on the street alot. I get alot of mixed opinions on the seat but it's actually really comfy 4 me . Im not a perfectionist at all I would rather be riding. My wife is xactly opposite.she spends all her time workin out every detail. While I'm riding she's in the workshop cussing . I hadn't really thot about the cable looking hinky. I might try an do something about that. I had to find a shorter kickstand 20160619_065300.jpg 20160619_065300.jpg

The air in the forks doesn't affect ride height. It affects the effective spring pre-load. You can run air in there if you want to.

A 2" drop at the rear is fine.

    Love the paint.

My wife made me a seat out of buckskin and layers of compressed foam but it wasn't tall enuff so my back leg would drag on the iron while putting feet down so I got the thicker one. Plus the roads where I live suck so more pad is better 20160521_200242.jpg

I put air in front and it lifts it alot. And rides rough. Probley to much air it all leaks out in a day so I let it go . If I want a tall ride I take out my 79 650 special 20160514_202343.jpg

5 to 11 PSI for a solo rider; 17 psi is max, and the front will not lift with the max in it.

If it's leaking then you either have bad air collar o-rings, bad schrader valve, bad hose, or a leaky fork seals.

If you don't want to fix the air leak you can make longer spacers to increase the spring preload (which is what the air is doing).

    Take that out now!
The fork oil is not in a seperate chamber. The Slime will block the damper rod passages and possibly corrode the internals. The bits of thread in it will definitely cause problems.
