so long story short beacause im either really unlucky or an idiot. But the "towers" holding the little pin that makes the boat and needle float has broken in one of my carbs, but it was a spare one luckily, now im hoping there is some glue out there that people would recomend? its from a xj750 seca from 82 if any one needs to know.

hopefully its not lost yet i hope.
    regards

You could use liquid steel ( it is a 2 part you kneed together) or if you have a dremel tool grind damage even drill and tap with a bolt correct size . Grind one side (inboard side) flat , drill hole for pin. There are some posts on doing this , sorry I don't have the links .

I had luck drilling and pinning one. The trick is to drill the hole slightly undersized so the pin has an interference fit. A set of digital calipers are your friend for selecting the pin and drill bit. I think I used a finishing nail for the pin.

Annoying - why do they make those float pivot pins so bastrd tight? I have a feeling you will have to use a pin to reinforce as the guys suggest - glue on its own will yield to the force of the pin going back in I would say - even 'super duper' epoxy

I've used JB weld on engines before with good results, to repair an oil sending unit boss that cracked 4 yrs now no leaks . Of course don't know how it would hold up in fuel (ethonal) . Secret to using JB weld has to be spotlessly clean and let it set up 24hrs min ...48 hrs even better. I like Polocks picture WOW that was dedication , but a nice repair.

my plan was to get the carb ultrasound cleaned and the use some loctite glue for casted iron. says its gasoline/oil etc. stable but it also says it can hold up til +150* wich i dont know if is enough.

All you can do is try it. Nothing ventured nothing gained right?

I bought a set of 4 carbs in parts... hopefully, that'll be easier. :) When Hogfiddles is done, I should have spare bodies for the BS28 if anybody's interested.

THEY didn't make them tight. Time, neglect, etc...... Made them tight.

XJ4Ever does ship internationally, I believe. However, I don't know what shipping costs would look like there. I have heard some European folks have used Yambits for some parts.
