Tach wires

    Hay guys I dont have access right now so I cant use the cd that xj550H sent me thank you so much buy the way.but im working on my take and was wondering can I use a digital one and what are the color wires to my take there are lots of plugs and no speedo or tach. And do I have to use mech. One or can I just wire one in thanks

    look for a gray wire that goes from the tci box to the coils, tap into that for the tach. but you might need a resistor with some tachs

    Ok thank you sorry its on a 550 seca and the snaps are still there were the tach go or did it even have one on this bike. I know theres a cable running out of my engine I think for a mechanical one ?

    Yes. your bike had a mechanical tach. You will need to blank off the tach cable port when fitting an electric tach. Chacal sells them if you can't make one for yourself.

    get the blanking plate or find a acorn nut that will go on the threads.you will want to remove the gear inside of it. or it will pump oil
    do you know how to solder if so you can solder a wire to the coil where the gray wire connects and run it to your tach and use a connector to hook it up for easy removal if you need to remove it
