    Hello Xj forum
    I'm Martin from the UK.

I have 3 problems that may be related, or may not!

A I can't adjust the tickover below 1200 RPM at the maximum adjustment of the screw.

B There is a long delay between shutting the twist grip, and the revs actually dropping, most noticable when changing gear. (espcially noticeable changing from first to second gear???)

C No power at all below 2000 RPM, the engine completely bogs down and needs more revs.

The bike is a XJ650 imported from the USA, year unknown.

    Thanks for looking!

Start by checking for vacuum leaks. Use spray carb cleaner and be methodical.

Also check the valve clearnaces and adjust as needed.

Ok, I've sprayed all round the carbs and rubbers with no luck as yet, I did notice the thin hose (air hose?) from the fuel tank to the carbs has no clips attached, could that be a problem?

Thanks Jetfixer I'll add that to the list..
