So I have the carbs off my bike and i'm starting to clean and go through everything. I have a few questions. Where are the jets located? I've rebuilt many carbs in the past but i've never seen one quite like these. Are they simple screw in/out jets or do I have to pull them out some other way? Also, if I wanted to take this time and install a jet kit for my exhaust/intake i'll be getting eventually where would I pick those up?

    Thanks!

I'm not sure where you'd get the jets, but changing the jets out without doing the intake and exhaust at the same time isn't gonna result in a bike thats very fun to ride... or so i've heard.

The jets are simple screw out. It helps a bunch to have perfectly sized screwdrivers. I picked up a cheap pack of five different sized flat head screwdrivers at sears and was able to use them for all the jets and the pilot mixture screw too. You can grind them to the right sizes and shapes without worrying about ruining a nice tool.

I forgot to mention that you can get mikuni jets from bikebandit.com. May not be the best prices, I haven't done too much research. Check aftermarket parts ->fuel and air-> carb jets - mikuni

OK, but where ARE the jets? Do I have to completely dissasemble the carb to get to them?

if you take off the float bowl, you will see the main fuel jet in side the center post, and a pilot fuel jet right next to it down in another tube. If you take off the top cap, spring and diaphragm, you will also see a pilot air jet up there. Those are the 3 jets I remember.

    But the motor won't.

Too rich is bad, plugs will foul, motor will run too cold, rings will not be lubed as oil will be washed off the barrels.

When you get the aftermarket parts then rejet if needed.

    Jetting help.
