I found a photo of me taken in 1985 with my brand new XJ550. The second photo is me with the bike in 2015.

And that "Members Only" leather jacket shrank years ago.

That's just plain awesome! Have you had other bikes along the way?

Only bike I've ever owned. Bought it while engaged, it was kind of a "wedding" gift for the two of us. Still married too....

Another original owner. I wonder how many of us there are in this group.

Not trying at all to steal your show but I'll share a few 30 years apart photo's too. I've posted these here before so if they look familiar there's a reason.

This was taken in May of 1983.

And this I took last year. Same spot.

That's interesting, instead of the Members Only jacket shrinking, the bushes did . . . And I assume the shoreline as well.

The mileage on my wife is none of your business...:)

The bike has 26,000. It hadn't been ridden more than a few hundred miles a year (just to keep gas fresh, carbs clean, oil circulating, etc) for about a decade. Thanks to this site, my recent DIY work for safety and to get it running well, I've been riding it a lot again the last two summers.

    Nice Seca Bigss.

I invite other original owners to post vintage and current pics. I too wonder how many there are. This could become an interesting thread.

Cgutz, can you take the picture in the same place as in the 1985 photo (same pose, etc.)? That would be cool........

Theoretically, yes. It was my Dad's driveway, and the house is in my town, but my family sold it years ago, and I don't know the owners. There would be nothing but a hedge in the background as it "grew up" big.

The journey of the bike is it was bought in South Dakota, went to Chicago, then Wisconsin, then two places in Iowa, and has now returned to its "hometown" along with the owner and his wife :). Its always had a nice garage with concrete floor and bike cover to sleep in, so it isn't a "barn queen."

A little bit of photoshop would take care of that.............in fact, if you could just duplicate the pose and angle of the photo, you could put the "current" image into the old photograph.

    If I could find a '75 Honda XL350 , it would be a 40 years later picture.

Wow, does that photo bring back memories of my 81 650 maxim. I was 25 yrs. old, bought it new. I'm 60 now. I have a picture of me sitting on it like you are. Big smile, skinny and proud new owner! I owned it 20 yrs.

Well it is about 9' deep, just enough to cover up the sturgeon and to make it get really choppy when the wind blows.

Actually it's roughly 20' deep, but yes, can get rough.
