So on Sunday I didn't have much to do so I decided to go for a fun little ride into the mountains... Not too exciting but it was a nice little ride.

So I got started at around 11:30 and made my first stop in Folsom and took a few pics.

I kept riding up a ways until I got to this place by Apple Hill that had a nice view.

I kept going up 50 to Tahoe and noticed something on the side of the road...

    I got kinda artsy

It was right by a little bridge with a stream running under it

After that I didn't stop much. I was having a lot of fun on the twisties. I stopped one more time for a smoke and then I headed home.

It was a fun little ride and I pushed my bike pretty hard and she was loving it.

Arrgh, Scott Road, my beloved Sierras. Man I wish I were closer. You coulda stopped in to visit my sister, she is right by the Factory outlets. And she LOVES motorcycles, especially riding them! Great pics, glad to see that it all hasn't caught fire this year.

Yeah, it's pretty dry but I keep my fingers crossed that there aren't any fires... The way back was pretty cool as I was approaching Placerville there was traffic stopped for miles. I'm used to being in a car, but this time I got to filter the whole way and was through it in 5 minutes which was nice because my butt was getting pretty sore by then... gotta love riding a bike.

Oh man, that is so good to see. Nice pics and even nicer machine. I can't count the number of times I motored from the Bay Area up to Plumas, Yosemite, Desolation Wilderness and all manner of places in between. Getting a bit dry and dusty this time of year but the magic is never gone. Kind of like that beautiful example of an XJ X you have there. Sure looks like you know how to take care of it.
I owe the relatives a visit this fall and I'm adding your post into the pro column for doing a cross country ride. Call me crazy, but call!

I had a pair of gloves exactly like that ... with the light spot in the grips; too.
    Fine looking bike.
    Superb views of Americana; too.
Was that the famous Folsom Prison in the background?

Must be nice being able to reach the Mountians in a short ride.
When the leaves turn ... and, because of the drought this year, the word is it will be SPECTACULAR ... I'm going to hook-up with "Worm" and head-up for some of the "Blazing" countryside ... in yellows, reds and orange!

But, I'd like too get turned loose around Lake Tahoe!
    Who wouldn't.

I'd be sure to leave the Title to the Bike ... HOME!

K-Mart has some comfy leather gloves on sale for $9.99 (If you like yellow!)

Sorry Rick, that isn't the prison. It's another bleedin' shopping outlet right off Scott Road exit. Those used to be the unsullied, "golden" hills of California right there (it is the gold country after all). Kinda went to heck in a hand basket when INTEL moved in back in the later 80's. Stupid development went ape s*** after that. I used to watch the deer run across the road there as a young fellow (spent more than a few nights up on the hill under the stars...wink wink). I'm done ranting now. Guess you know I vote anti-expansion every chance I get.
Jon3s3y, did you ever get in touch with Smokamoto?

    Nope.
I'm just enjoying all the unusually sunny and dry weather and making lame excuses for having to go to the hardware store for a spool of pipe threads.

I got the Max darn near perfect. All that bike wants to do is go, go, GO.

I started the summer off Lean, so I re-tooled and got it away from being critically lean to being Sportbike Lean. Wicked fast. I deserve a ticket. I don't have any, so I want to keep it that way.

Now, after a iddy-biddy-tweaky after eyeballing the Plugs after a screeching afternoon coming home from my Sister's ... I was a thin hair lean on 3. The rest were OK like that ... but, I want the bike to relax for the Fall Foliage ... so, I added the comfort of a teenie-weenie bit of more Gas from the Pilot Sisters and she's a Cruiser, now.

Sorta freewheeling a little bit, rather than acting like I'm dragging a load of sandbags when I close the throttles.

It's nice to have the Pilots where I can play with them. I wish I could put into words how to get the bike this way so all the Tweakers could do this too.

I guess the hard part is making yourself a "Tweak Tool" so you can look at them plugs ... understand what they are saying and make the tiny adjustments to Power or Comfort.
