If anyone has seen the news today? A group of sport bike riders surrounded a pickup truck in Aurora Ill over weekend. The bikers were riding wheelies weaving in and out of traffic , acting like bungholes. The driver ran over at least one bike trying to get away. I have seen bikers riding like this it discredits other riders that just enjoy riding. Most comments in the article called bikes murder cycles, organ donors etc hate to say it but in someways they are right...riding irresponsibly is not cool. Okay maybe because I'm older and I pamper my bike I do not attempt to ride wheelies . Guess I'm just venting .:mad::(

Reminds me of a story couple of years ago in NY city. Guy in a suv bumped a motorcycle that was part of a mob made up of motorcycles, 4 wheelers, dirt bikes and other illegal vehicles tearing up the city. They surrounded him and started beating on his windows and slashing his tires, he took off, running over a couple of bikes in his way. Paralyzed one biker.

I don't blame the suv driver, his wife and child was in the car.

If it's the one I saw the guy got bumped because he pulled in front of the SUV and hit the brakes, they deserved a lot more than what they got

It part of the gang mentality, power in numbers. But any one of them on there own is just a punk or a bully that has no guts

    It is sad.
People are afraid to live their true lives so they hide behind immoral masks that make them think they are powerful.

Most of the time I see this, it is from those who haven't had enough years in life to learn to respect the machines they are riding and those around them. Some learn this early, some never learn it. We recently had a rider, in his very early 20s,killed up here. He crossed into the other lane. My wife recognized the bike as the one doing a wheelie while going down the Northway, a primary highway nearby. While I feel for his family, riders like that make it hard for those who simply want to enjoy the ride.

My sister and I were leaving the BethPage station after seeing Radiohead@MSG last Tuesday night. She got on the highway and was about to move into the middle lane when these bikes blew past very close. She says they do that on Long Island all the time and sometimes pulling wheelies. I wonder what their life expectancy is!

It is so sad ,because it lumps ALL bikers as hooligans, whether riding a Harley or Yamaha, Honda, Ducati , Suzuki Kawasaki, BSA, Royal Enfield . I once was in a Honda dealer just looking at bikes, A younger guy asks me what I thought about the 84 Honda Sabre that was in showroom . Told him it looked ok ,but they were asking too much(don't recall amount) he then asks me if I'd ride it to tell him if it was alright? He then tells me he has never rode before . I told him the Suzuki 450 they had beside it was a better bike to learn on... he just laughed said it was not cool enough. Moral of this thread is these are the types that buy a Hyabusa as a first bike and usually wreck or take a spill or WORSE . I know Europe has laws limiting learners we have nothing , here the skys the limit . I'm not railing against sport bikes , even rode a couple , just when riders do not respect the laws and other drivers/riders THAT is where I draw the line. If they want to ride like this do it on the track not in neighborhoods. I've been riding since I was 14 Honda Trail 70 ... now I'm an "old Man" of 49 had one spill because I was wearing a full face helmet , I'm here pecking this out , my spill was an "S" turn in the dark that had been cut for a drain pipe with very little fill I was going about 30 when I hit this and down I went on my Buell . My helmet looked like it was put on a grinder and a chunk missing where my temple is located. My gloves has had to small rips on the knuckles with just a small tear in my skin , my left knee felt like jello ... I was more concerned about my bike couldn't see much at 230AM , Lucky didn't do much to the bike , and I was able to repair myself!! Just be safe wear good equipment when you ride ,and look out for idiots in cars and on bikes.

Not much of a law actually. 16 years -125cc 18 years -max35kw 20 years and your free to drive anything on two wheels... We have large problems with drivers who can't see their limits destroying for all the others. It's not only the youngsters but most it is...
