    Hi folks.

I'm lucky enough (!!??) to own an XJ 750 Seca. Unfortunately due to this being an American model, i'm struggling for accessible parts. In particular, an exhaust. I don't fancy paying 400 notes for a new one, so has anyone got any advice on either........1. The best place to look for a secondhand one (i'm based in Leicester but can travel) or 2. An alternative system, perhaps from another bike.

    Thanks in advance :)

The XJ750R was not just made for the U.S. The exhaust is the same worldwide, as are most other parts (the speedometer and odometer, and the language of the systems monitor being the main differences).
Ebay Germany is your best bet for used parts, as there is still a large following for the bike there.
For new parts you can start a conversation with Chacal (he ships internationally), or try Yambits.

Thank you. I'm really looking for UK based parts though.

    I understand that.
    Yambits is a U.K. business.
You mentioned not wanting to buy new, which is why I mentioned Ebay Germany. The selection in parts listed there far exceeds that of anywhere other than auction sites in Japan. I excluded mentoning Marving exhausts for the same reason (your preferencee for used).

Yambits have everything but an exhaust by the look of it. Worth looking at for other bits, so thanks for that.

There are exhausts from overseas on eBay but i'm a bit dubious about customs issues or being ripped off (i'm old and cynical by the way!!!!)

I think you'll find this is teh Saga holidays of m/c forums so you're in good company.. I've bought a few items from ebay Germany and it's been pretty good. There are also a few XJ750s in the UK so you might luck out on ebay UK too. Strangely ebay France yields next to nothing I've found ..

England has a huge amount of breaker yards you should be able source an exhaust .. cost might not be as high as shipping from over seas. Motorcycle Mechanics magazine has numerous adds listed... by the way awesome magazine

Let's back-up a bit. What exactly is wrong with the current exhaust system?

Completely disintegrated. Had to throw it. I had the bike off a mate just before he died. He said it'd been kept outside for many years. There was nothing I could salvage exhaust wise. The rest of it is coming together gradually.

Will any part of the XJ650 exhaust fit ( or be made to fit) - more plentiful in UK

That's probably my best bet. I was looking for anyone who might know if a more recent exhaust may fit. Even a more modern Diversion one perhaps?

Not sure about the silencer, but Divvy headers will not work due to incline of the cylinders - take a close look at those motors to see what I mean.

It's just an idea really. I didn't know if anyone knew for sure. I'm either going to have to be really lucky finding a good value second hand one or bite and bullet and go new.

The 650 mufflers will fit (I run them on my 750). The collector is unique to the 750 models. THe headers from a 650 I'm not sure about, but a search here should get you the answer (question has been asked before).

The p.o. of my bike put a Mac 4 into 2 exhaust on my 750 ..I like the sound and it does not look bad either... I know they are not cheap.

Don't write off Germany, I've got many parts for my XJ900 and CX500 euro from there and they are in better condition than I could find here. The XJ tank was spotless as were the original De Carbon shocks and the full CX500 exhaust system. The parts often reach UK quicker than those posted internally.
