    what did you guys do with the big hole in the top, anybody have water/shorting issues?

    That hole is there with the factory gauges in place, and is just as open to the elements.

    i don't think so but maybe im just a fool? thats the way it was when i took it off, but that doesn't mean it was right. k-moe the stock gauges cover the hole, the one I just put on definatly does not. ugh, is it upside down?

    The stock gauges are over the hole, but they do not seal it.

    u got me, i even went and checked. the angle adjustment is on the bottom so its definatly not!

    If you want some extra peice of mind, use dielectric grease on all of the connectors. That will keep the moisture out.

    Was your headlight upside down? I have an '82 Maxim XJ650J. Either mine is upside down or the lens is rotated in the wrong orientation. So when I turn my high-beam on, it actually angles downwards, not upwards. Anyone have any ideas on what I may need to do to make things right? (It looks like the previous owner fudged with it and tried to jam a screw driver between the outer rim of the lens and the inner rim of the bezel.)
