81 xj750rh seca cylinder interchange

    looking for someone who knows if 81-83 maxim and seca cylinders interchange i have looked and they are different part numbers 562-11101-00-00 for 1981 and 562-11101-10-00 for 82 up whats the difference? can i use a later jug? mine has low compression 100psi 75psi 30psi 30psi

    They interchange. The different part number is due to the paint differences.
    Before you buy anything, have you done a leakdown test?
    Did the bike sit for long?

    i accidentally put the head part number. no, all i did was check for fuel, and spark. it wouldn't run so i did the compression check. the guy i got it from was riding it last month but he was push starting it. the starter wasnt working. i bought a new starter and cant get it to run

    So the truth is that it wasn't being ridden at all.

    Do a wet comression test (1 tbsp oil down each spark plug hole), then do a leakdown test.
    If you're lucky the rings are just stuck (unlikely with how low the compression is).

    Check the valve clearances too.

    You may be buying new cylinders, but that should wait until you know whether it's better to tear the engine down, or just look for another.

    thanks i oiled to cylinders now i have 150 125 125 125 so i ordered cylinders rings and pistons. can i take off the jugs with the motor in the bike?

    Be sure to get wrist pin circlips too. They should not be reused.

    where does this vacuum hose go? its on the petcock, does it go to the intake boot?
