Starter Motor question...

    Hi guys again...sorry to bother so often... here's the thing...I pulled apart the starter motor to check it and when I put it back together and try to start the bike you can only here the starter motor spinning... I take off the bike 2 times thinking that may be the teeth in the end didn't engaged well but 2 times I got the same result...the starter motor spinning alone... What I did wrong when I putted together???

    read the article...I dind't replace nothing...and I assembled just like it was, the starter works spinning bit does not engage with the bike engine...i know i did spmething wrong twice but in the write up does not say o show something that i didn't do....

    Don't know but it happens. Has something to do with the brushes

    ok. Meaning that brushes make spin the started in only one direction so if you change the position of the brushes will make it spin in the oposite direction? even if you can asamble both ends correctly? I mean a right asambly allow for the brushes to fit in any way?

    Check the orientation of the brushes, the positive brush must be 90 degrees from the alignment notch as noted in the starter rebuild thread:

    Ok...I did what rooster53 told me...still don't know why but it worked (thanks a lot Rooster53!!) I aligned the nothc to the brushes on a 90 degree angle and it work...Thank you all.
