longer forks

    i am currently looking for longer forks on my 82 xj550 maxim i have tried ebay and looking for manufacturers. does anyone know where to find longer forks?
    will forks/the whole front end from another size xj fit the neck joint?
    if so are they longer?

    I am no expert for sure.

    Someone recently new here mentioned that on his Virago they use Maxim forks.

    He said the Midnight Maxim's forks were shorter so the Virago handled better. His handle is XVFinishes

    So, maybe Virago front forks are what you need. He did specifically use a Midnight Maxim front fork, so I cant guess the length difference from standard Maxim to Virago and Midnight Maxim.
