Stupid question... i am reinstalling the cylinder block and in the haynes manual it say to work the red orings over the sleeve. The orignal ones were down in a groove. The ones i purchased dont seem to fit. There is too much slack. when i try to put it into the groove one side would go in and then a section would pop out amd it never lays flat.

Do i just slide it ove the sleeve and leave then as is resting above the groove or push them in?

Slide them over the sleeve and they will find their way into the groove.

Use a small wooden dowel to gently seat them in the groove as you work around the cylinders. They'll get destroyed if you assemble without seating them.

I got them from len, looks like i am too late. The motor is assembled. Would suck if i have to take it back apart.

Also the came chain seems to have dislodged it self from the crank and spins freely. How do i get it back on?

Tried that, a loop would always form forcing a part to pop out. When i did get it in the oring is wavy and doesnt sit flat.

They are the wrong size, they should fit like the originals

Now are the orings just for sealing the cylinder sleeves from oil going up the Jug not actually sealing oil from leaking out, between the jug and case right?

The O-rings seal the joint between the cases and sleeves. This keeps the oil from leaking out from under the cylinders.

Coating them in oil right as you assemble them will help it all slide together w/o cutting them
