Just curious. What size of enclosed trailer would you recommend for someone with 3 motorcycles?

It will primarily be used for storage and if I travel with the bikes there would typically only be two. I have three medium cruisers.

    Any suggestions are appreciated.

The same answer as if you were building a shop; as big as you can afford.

The big question is what you have for a tow vehicle.

Lower 48 in general. Otherwise Central Mitten.
Figure approx 3x8 per bike. Unless you have a fairing or hard bags. Then go to 4x8 for safety.
Realistically you can only put 2 bikes side by side safely in a 8x10 trailer.
For 3 bikes you would want to look at 8x16, or 8x20. Opinions will vary on this!
All aluminum would be easily handled with a half ton pickup. Make sure you have plenty of room to secure the bikes properly when towing.

I am converting a boat trailer with an 8x12 deck to haul 2 bikes.

Isn't that the truth, because there will be more bikes. Whatever I need to tow it, I will have it. All it takes is money right?

Good information and much appreciated. I've poured a slab on the side of the house a few years back and have been looking for a trailer. The county I live in in Iowa is very restrictive and won't allow me to build a garage because it will be too close to the property line....even though I live in the country. But, they can't do anything about me parking a trailer there.

The trailer will work as a garage. 8 x 20 sounds perfect. I may be able to squeeze a work bench in the front too.
