You mean that nearly 1/3 of XJ members have NEVER popped a post?

Are these 648 Silent Sams subscribers to the Conspiracy Theory, afraid that Big Brother will track 'em down and somehow use XJ Bikes against them? Or are they the strong and observant type learning from all our mistakes and gaffes?

Loosen up fellas and gals, let's hear from you.

Since I've been around here there have been several people who have dropped out.
One is Hessenroots, miss those people!

Maybe they sold their bike or moved to another planet or something.....

They must be Authors searching for Non-Copyrighted material to glean into a "How-to" book for fixing-up and Modifying XJ-Bikes.

Or, Standup Comedian's looking for material on funny stuff that people do trying to fix-up their bikes by themselves!

Maybe they are trying to catch up on all there is to read about our XJ's. There is a wealth of information here that has been posted. Even better, they are using the SEARCH function to find what they are looking for instead of posting the ever-tiresome SAME OLD QUESTIONS.

My bike keeps dying because the fuses are always falling out of those little pincher finger things and even when the one I wrapped with tin foil stays put the new battery I got for it keeps losing its charge and the blinkers start to slow down before the bike stalls-out even though I have the idle set at 3,200 rpm's.

Will an a new header and pods help make the bike start and run without the choke on full or should I just try running Seafoam in every place that I can find a place to pour some?

This is my first bike and I really want to do all I can to ruin it before ever taking the Motorcycle Test I have scheduled on the very same day as my Vasectomy?

    Can I hotwire it?

I can't seem to find my key!

If you saw my bike then you would understand why I have yet to get a lot of postings underway. It is a junker and I am still getting through all the recommendations - Yes I have changed the brushes in the alternator and starter motor.....

Once I have the buggar running I will post some pics and be a regular!

We appreciate even when we don't post!

    Hello,
I registered to reply to a post I actually had a clue on. Other than that, I am hear to learn as much as I can to get my '82 XJ650 on the road. I have owned it for about 4 years. Got it running 4 years ago, bought a V-Star, gave away the xj, Sold the V-Star and now have re-aquired the xj. Has been sitting and I am soaking up all I can to get her running down the road again.

ROFLMAO!!! Rick if you have a MC test the same day as the vasectomy?? then you really have to answer to the women. Either the bike goes or I go. If it was me I'd slap on a new dunlop rubber and send her on the way!!!! I Know you are kidding but just had to toss this out there, yup the beer made me do it :)

Heck I have found OUTSTANDING HELP from this site. I am still somewhat new to motorcycles, and am constently watching this site for help. Due to being over in Iraq, I have a hard time checking the posts everyday, and sometimes I have to pass over alot of them, someday I need to print out all the good useful ones for reference and keep them in my parts binder. Eventually, I would like to link up with fellow XJers in the area and maybe get a few photos for the site. Hey on the bright side, I should be back on my 750J by the end of October, and once I give or get a good tune up, mount my Vetter saddle bags and trunk, she'll be back on the GA roads.

I never post because i haven't had any problems with the bike yet, it just keeps running great. This is my first bike and I am still a newbie so I really don't have any good input to help others with their problems yet.

well rick, last friday night i went in the garage and put on the gloves, put on new tires, spark plugs, in-line fuel filter, soldered in blade type fuse holders, new air filter, changed oil and filter, lubed chain, adjusted cam chain tension, cleaned turn signal switch, and did an overall inspection of the bike and took her for a nice ride saturday morning! next on the list is carb cleaning and fork seals! I bought this seca on ebay last month, i live in Indiana and went to Wisconson to pick it up, it's a nice seca that just needed a little love, it has a kerker 4 into 1, and barnett clutch plates, but is otherwise stock. I love this bike!!! that's it for now!

You must have the Wood Brother's living next door.
I'd still be struggling with getting the beads broke on the tires ... let alone doing all that wiring and other maintenance.

    Good deal!

How about Posting a pic of your bike and telling us about how you made the score!

the tires only took about an hour to remove, unmount and remount, the hard part was soldering while fighting off mosquito's. after 7 years i finally convinced my wife i could be a nicer, shinier human if i only had two wheels under me again, so i scoured the globe and found a honda ascot on ebay, bid on it but lost, the gods were watching over me! a few weeks later found the seca, watched it, did research on ths site among others and at the last minute... i bid on it and won!! i will try and get a pic soon, i do ok with a wrench in my hand, but when it comes to an electronic marvel like a camera... i am 10 again looking down at this thing in my hands and wondering... how does this thing work???
