Thank you for the offer but I actually found one in Canada and it's currently in transit to me. Post the pictures and your asking price if you don't mind and I will show it to another person I know with a Maxim that might want it. Thanks again!

I have a few people interested in the backrest you have for sale.
They would like to know the following please:
    1) What is your asking price?
    2) They would like pictures
    3) What bike did it come off of, XJ700 or XJ750?

    Thank you!

Tazman is referring to the rarer-option tall backrest with the pad

    image.jpeg

and the small package tray that we often call the '6-pack rack'.

What you showed is the standard short grab bar.

And it doesn't matter whether it was the 1985 0r 1986 year, OR the xj700,xj750, xj700X, or xj750X. All 6 wore the same grab bar or backrest, or package tray. The ONLY difference there was that the rack mounting brackets were longer for the short grab bar because the angle of the bar was slightly different. They were necessary because the trayhad to be about half an inch farther back to clear the shorter bar.

I passed on the information about the other parts for you Dragin700 along with a link to this thread. Thanks

Do you have all of these backrests and luggage racks available Hogfiddles? If yes. how much for the backrests and the luggage racks separately? How does the luggage rack mount to the backrest? Thanks for your help!

Do you see the two holes in the brackets on the left rack? The mounting bolts for the backrest go right through them.

Also, they aren't luggage racks..... They are small package trays-- they only hold a few pounds worth of stuff. They are referred to as' 6-pack racks' because that's about all that can fit on them.....lol

I suspected that was the mounting method with the tray on the left. I was curious about the tray on the right. Depending on price and S & H I might be interested in the tray on the left that my backrest would bolt through for my 86 XJ700. I also know of a few others looking for the backrests and/or trays which is why I needed the prices. Thanks
