3rd post down gives you the colours of wires that need to be matched. The turn signals light need a small rectifier diode, you can get them at The Source (Canada), it's usually the only diodes they have on display. If I remember correctly you put the yellow/black from speedo to a common ground (just black on stock wiring connector) then you have a diode on the green blinker wire and a diode on the brown blinker wire that both get connected to the yellow wire on the speedo - that will prevent all blinkers from flashing.

    Hope that helps!

your stock seca xj 550 has 2 blinker indicators which each have a ground, unlike the maxim with 1 indicator which grounds through the opposite blinker bulb
I found a Bidirection led to use in stock max setup which eliminated the need for the diodes.

    Part Number
    WLED-W4-90
    99 cents
194 config. if it can be used as a replacment to your speedo bulb you will not need the rectifier diodes , opps spec says non replacable led

    this concerns me
    - ratio is 60mph = 2,240RPM. Suits most Japanese, and many American and British motorcycles.

The speedo ratio is correct for our machines.

Hopefully it'll give you a proper speed reading. I got some cheap chinese gauges and although the ratio is correct and the odometer seems to be showing the right milage, the speed is off by about 12mph. I compared the speedo readings to a GPS speedo on my phone. Do a comparison once you get it running.

I'm thinking of doing custom enclosures for the stock internals. I'll start a thread on it if I get around to doing that.

    Good luck with the wiring.

I checked the speedo app on my phone when driving in my car. The difference there is only like 3mph, not 12. So the chinese guage is definitely off quite a bit.

Would like to see how this one works out for jmcgrew

If it's a constant 12MPH difference across therange of the gauge, just open the housing (might be tricky) and reposition the needle. I had to do that on my Zuma 125 (gauges made in Japan).

That sounds like it could work. Gotta make sure. Thanks for the suggestion. Enough about my gauges, dont want to hijack this thread :)
