    Hi
I brought a set of carbs advertised as xj750 then spent another £250 on top of the £120 that I paid for them to be refurbished only to discover that they were not for my xj750. So if anyone has any carbs that have to be eleven inches across from outsid edge of first port to far outside edge on fourth port on carbs , I noticed that on my engine the intake mounts are angled one way on the first two ports but are angled on the opposite direction on the third and fourth is this the norm as on my old xj650 all the intake mounts point in the same direction, so if anyone has any carbs or sudgestions how to make the ten and a half ones fit I'd love to hear it please

A picture would help. What model are you working on? (not sure it matters unless you have one of the liquid cooled X models)

Are the intake boots angled outside to inside from both sides"? It almost sounds like the intake boots are not installed correctly.

The outside to outside dimensions of the engine side throats of my XJ750RH carburetor rack is 10.5"

These aren't the greatest pics, but this is what the intake boots should look like on a 750 Seca(my 750 Maxim is exactly the same).

I do have a set of 750 carbs for sale, but I'm not sure you have the wrong carbs now.

There may still be numbers on the bottom of the float bowls. If so, what are they?
If not, please measure the inner diameter of the throttle plate side of the carb throat.

Also, which XJ750 do you have: air-cooled or watercooled?

It looks like the inboard boots are from a water cooled engine and yours is air cooled?
Left and right boot are different each pair should be the same and right pair also

    TmB,
    Are you asking Me?
The pics are of my air cooled XJ750RH Seca. The boot are original. I just posted them for comparison for the OP.
