    Hey,

I stumbled upon this site while looking for jetting options for my 550 Seca...seems like an interesting idea...any feedback or individuals who have used this or have any experience with the concept...

I am considering giving it a shot...

Jon, word on the street is dial-a-jet is wasted money. I´ve inquired of a few tweakers and all have told me to steer well clear. I´ve never owned nor used one so I can´t say they are junk from personal experience.

One person (name long forgotten) mentioned that the results had been spotty for power on, deceleration. It´s been years but I do recall only one opinion with any feedback. I don´t live anywhere near any great altitude changes so I´ve never run across them. My interest in them was limited to efficiency adjustment but I was dissuaded from taking the plunge. My Max has always run just fine so there was no real reason to monkey with it.

I've got Dial-a-Jets on my VT1100 Shadow, They aere installed to eliminate the lean condition when installing an after market air cleaner and opening up the exhaust by removing the baffles. That was 4 years ago and I don't have any problems. I guess they did what they are made to do. I've ridden over 20,000 miles since I've installed them.

    PainterD,

did you get any noticeable change in performance? Throttle response, acceleration, fuel economy?

Just curious as to what they give to the rider in real time...

    Thanks,

    Jon

I didn't notice much change in gas mileage. I did however notive bit better throttle response, but no increase in power. They are just there to prevent the engine from running lean thru the power band.
I guess you could say it gives a false reading on the plugs, because if your carbs get dirty, you would never know it because the Dial-a-Jets would allow for it and suck up fuel to the ports to allow for jets being clogged.
They wwould however, be a good addition to any two-stroke engine in my opinion, to keep from burning holes in the pistons. I went thru that with one of my dirt bikes years ago.

I'm going to resurrect this one, just curious if anyone has looked into this further. I have seen a lot of good things on DAJ recently, more geared to ATV and snowmobiles, but some bikes. I'm really curious as to whether anyone here has personal experience with putting them on the XJs, especially if it could help those of us going against all advice and putting pods on there...

Anyone hear anything more? I may try this if it isn't going to break the bank.
