I'm finally in a position to offer up my newly sourced exhaust system to my Maxim with the exception of a single gasket.

Chacal has it listed as the HCP584 (OEM) and I would source from him, but, as i'm in the UK and am still compiling a separate parts list of service items to order from Len and have shipped to the UK, I could really use sourcing this gasket individually just to get the bike together again.

Can anyone help provide Yam part # or gasket dimensions so I can possibly source it aftermarket via eBay etc?

I've answered my own question in as much as I've found the original part number: 4H7-14714-00

It's hard to source this part in the UK so perhaps an aftermarket gasket is in order, can anyone confirm the correct Dims for this? (I've seen reference to 32.5 x 28.5 x 30 but not sure its correct)

Similar size to a Honda one . Visit your local bike breaker and have a look at mufflers and pipes most of the gaskets are still in place. Length is not critical.

    Many thanks guys.
I did consider a graphite type non-OEM gasket - in the end i've managed to find an OEM in Germany and as its pay day this week i've treated the bike so its now winging its way.

Did cost around $25 though. Ouch indeed.

High-temp RTV (or even the special exhaust gasket compound) along with a used gasket (or not depending on the pipe) will do the trick in a pinch. Lasts a long time too.

She's up and running. Haven't detected any leaks, the full system has been treated to OEM gaskets.
One question for you guys though, whats the correct torque for the exhaust header nuts to cylinder head studs?

I've seen 3 different ratings, including one as low as 1nm(!). Obviously I don't want to over-tighten these if its a critical measurement, but 1nm is barely any tighter than finger tight. Are these supposed to be a fairly loose fit in order to account for heat expansion?

I've only just nipped them tight, I can still see the 'HI1/H2/H3/H4' stamp on each of the header flanges where they press against their respective gaskets - in my mind I was expecting to do these studs nuts up much tighter and therefore pull the headers much tighter against the cylinder head.
I was worried about H1 header as initially it didnt face up to the cylinder head as flush as the other headers when I offered the system in place, and I guessed that torquing it up would pull it into alignment. Having fitted these now in what i consider to be a low torque setting, H1 seems to be lined up fine now and I havent detected any leaking gases yet.

I guess im just worried about my headers falling off mid ride!

System sounds great! It's louder than I expected an OEM system to be but at just the right level - and much quieter than the cut/shut system I used to have!
Just need to find me a grab rail now..

No idea on nut torque specs that you ask about . . . . . just wanted to give you a quick wolf whistle at that sweeeeet looking machine!
The aftermarket 'modern' accoutrements look very tastefully applied to a classic bike.

Correct torque limit for the exhaust flange nuts is 7.3 nm.
Check them often as the system settles into place.
