just saying hi to everyone, just bought a 82 maxim 650 and i havent owned a bike in 15 years , im so glad i found a site that is dedicated to just xj's. If everyone could dig through there extra parts im going to need some after i drop it a few times. . i do need the emblems for the tank if anybody has some extras they would like to sell.

 

Emblems? Darn; I knew my bike was missing something...

 

If mine had one i would take it off i personely dont like emblem's it's like a car you buy it from a car lot and theay put a sticker on it saying where you bought it from when i bought my camaro theay did that and i told them to take off the sticker theay said you bought it from here so we put it on i said take it off or ill see you in court theay said theay had ever right to put it on called an attourney had him come down the ended up taking it off but scratched the paint taking it off as a result my car got re painted lol

Kinda off subject but thought it was funny so id throw it in i my self even if i had a harley davidson would not have an emblem on the tank bercause in my opinion it takes from the buty of the paint job but every one has their owne way theay like things i guess if you were going for origonal you would need it i dont know if the

O.K. back on subject i dont know if the emblems off outher takes will go on thease or not i mean i dont know if you can just grab any yamaha emblem and put it on if so there is a junk yard with nothing but yamaha's and hond's in it just north of where i live i plan on going up there next weekend to see if i can find a seca750 gas tank because it holds a lot more go go juice i can see if he has any around and grab one if no one has any if any one need's outher parts i can make a list and come back with the prices

 

I've seen them for sale on various sites for a couple bucks a piece. Browse around and I'm sure you can find some.

im going to have the bike repainted this fall when it gets too cold to ride and i will have all the emblems taken off and the tank filled in where they go. but for this summer the right side yamaha emblem is broken and looks kinda cheesy. that would be great if i could find some cheap to get me into the winter time

Ebay has tons of auto and moto emblems for sale. Might want to dig around there, you should be able to find one for a dollar or two

 

mikesxs.com has them for $36 a set. I also know that Yamaha sells some for their golf carts that are very similar and I believe they are fairly cheap.

 

I got mine from the dealer for $26.50 a piece.

 

gave up on trying to find the emblems, the weather here in colorado turned very cold and windy . a good friend of mine works at a body shop and was wanting to try this new color on a bike project . so im having a complete custom paint job done right now, should have it back by monday or tuesday. i cant wait to see what he does with it.
