82 xj750 plug wire size.

    Picked up the cb750 coils with no wires but brand new caps. What size wire will I need?

    6mm copper core works well

    I believe 7mm was standard on the CB750. At least the ones I'm familiar with are.

    for xj
    the original 7mm size and the more modern 8mm diameter. Note that the larger 8mm wire will fit (tightly!) into the stock plug caps.

    7mm ...I use Bosch 7mm plug wires off my 71 vw beetle lol ...recycling ...you will like the CB coils been running mine for a year now. In my case these were left over from my 82 CB 750 custom ...I sold the bike still had coils , I had a cold cylinder so replaced coils...turns out the number 2 cylinder plug cap was bad. I almost pitched these but still had them and my coils on my seca were cracked so tried the CB coils worked great.
