    We got 7 inches on the other side of the mountains in Sevierville Tn. 0 degrees this morning. The Maxim is in the warm basement tore apart. Cleaning and polishing aluminum, touch up paint and just doing stuff to get ready for spring rides.

    Next weekend we're expected to get our third snow, and it might even be a real (as in school closing) snow.

    Some how, in Northeast Pennsylvania we've managed to not get much of anything the past two years. Just bitter cold.

    Looks quite nice. Up here in NY we have very little snow on the ground, but only 4 degrees on the way into work.

    Weatherman is predicting 8 - 14" of the white stuff this week, temps have been warm (in the 20's). The other week when we had a high temp of -5F the weatherman said it was "stupid cold".

    I have come to terms - ignoring the comments about "stupid cold", "how cold it feels" and "wind chill":
    This is North Central Wisconsin;
    it is Winter;
    it gets cold;
    wear lots of layers.

    Can't stop going outside because the wind chill is -30.

    Oddly enough a friend of mine from Whitby, Ontario sent me a pic of his buddies doing a beer run, buck naked on a snowmobile. I poured bleach in my eyes but something's you just can't unsee!

    Canadians have anti-freeze as blood.

    I must be Canadian. It was +2 when I arrived at work Friday morning. Seemed warm to me (not having any wind helped).

    Of course, but depending on how you get there you might need to get the light beer instead.

    Warm here too. While tempting, I hate to unwinterize it for one day plus there salt and crap all over the roads.

    Hate you guys.

    We got at least 11" of the white stuff in the last two days. Today on the way home from work, cruising over the snow packed lonely county road home, I briefly visualized myself in warmer weather buzzing down the road . . . . the mind is a powerful thing. For that brief moment it felt very good, meanwhile here we is stuck in winter. :(

    Enjoy it. The weeknd is going to be rough here, and you'll get the same storm.
    At 2:30 PM it was 58ºF. At 3:20 it was 42. At 5:00 it was 30ºF. The real weather isn't getting here until Friday, and we're expecing at least 1/2 inch of ice by Sunday morning.

    Winter is finally here :)

    I was spoiled for the last 3 seasons... Then the cold showed up. Was able to sneak in a quick run when we spiked to 50 the other day. Didn't know how "down" I felt until after I got home and felt waaaay better. By no means am I an adrenaline junkie and zip dangerously through traffic for the rush... But there's definitely something to being on two wheels...

    Ok choir... Consider yourselves officially preached to! Heh...

    Yea, you be preaching.

    Ole Ma Nature is a cruel mistress. We are in the midst of a heat wave with daytime temps in the 40's. The snow is melting, roads are clearing, walking outside without putting a jacket on, heck even our Russian Honey Bees are poking their heads out. So unseasonable for this part of the state, so she (Mother Nature) is dangling that carrot called spring in front of my face but we are far from being out of the icy grip of winter. There is more snow and sub-zero temperatures in my future.

    Oh the buzz of the engine and holding tight as the power band range is achieved, zipping down the long county roads lined with northwoods trees, lakes and minimal commuters . . . . I long for it with a thirst comparable to a man in a desert. Yesterday I caressed the grab bar on my XJ, it was an involuntary action as I walked by - I just stopped as I passed by her and touched her softly.

    I am an XJ junkie and I need help! o_O

    Hovering at the freezing point (32F). Vascillatting back and forth creating glare/ black ice conditions in the AM, melting during the day and back to an icy wonderland at night, with a slushy base underneath . . . That Woman (as mentioned before) is a cruel, cruel Mistress.

    This is the only time it is OK to spontaneously open your car door. If you was riding then.... as matti said, carbs or your carb boots might be leaking again.
