Anybody ever use an antigravity battery or have experience with them? I would like to use something smaller so I can hide it in the seat on my cafe project.

you don't need a anitgravity battery, just get some fresh dilithium crystals.
your warp core will thank you

yes i agree but I need the antigravity battery to initiate the warp reaction created by the dilithium crystals. ;)

that's one pricy battery. they are very proud of what they have created. and don't forget the special charger required for extended battery life.

It has a three year warranty.

Properly maintained, you can get 4 ~ 5 years out of a conventional, $39 wet-cell battery. I do it with great regularity. Longer even.

If that battery lasts 4 ~ 5 years as well, then...

I must be missing something. The maintaining?

The maintaining isn't really the problem the thing is it has to be hidden under that cafe seat. I was thinking that a battery that is upright will not fit under it and if it's on it's side then the battery fluid would leak out. Otherwise the choice would be obvious.

Gotcha. Then the one that Mr. P posted the link to makes sense. It's only an inch or so smaller in each dimension than the stock battery, but looks like it doesn't care about what orientation it's mounted in. I'm fascinated by the weight difference of the different technology.

I you end up using one, keep us posted on how it works out.

Will do I'm not looking forward to the electronics. I'm still doing all the welding on the frame.

Fitz, next time your in a home depot check out the LI cordless drills. the first time i used one i wondered if it would ever die.
the only reservation i have about them is the protection circuit. it stops the battery before it goes low enough to hurt itself. if your charging system was failing to charge the battery there is no warning, like slow cranking or dim lights. with a drill it drives the last screw just like the first then it just quits. that might not be a good thing on a bike

I personally don't think that a LI battery is a good motorcycle battery. Reference this article http://www.newark.com/pdfs/techarticles ... /LIBMG.pdf

They have a limited life and decrease the amount of charge it will take over time.

The reason HD and Lowes and others sell the LI tools rather cheap is they make it up on the price of the replacement batteries. Guess they learned that from the printer companies...

Also the life span of these batteries is from the manufacturing date, not when you first use it. So if the battery is a year old when you get it, you only have a year or so of life left in it.

I rather stick with the $39 battery from Walmart..... :)

I feel I should update this. Do not waste you money on this battery. I used it maybe 2x to start the bike and even charged it with its specific charger. After about 1.5 years of nothing being hooked to the battery, I went to test some things and it has no charge, it will not charge. I bought an AGM with 120 ccm, its bigger but I made it fit underneath my custom seat cowl. It is $30 vs $180.
