My Seca starts fine, and idle perfectly.
Until it is at a warmer temp and I pull clutch and she hits 2.5-3k rpms
I release the clutch to put small load on her and back to 1.1k
...I mean I can hold her back w/ my legs "small load", nothing intense.
I have all my money on a carbs issue, but what comes to mind.
Got the bike about 4 months ago from PO. He kept it in decent condish.
She does not have problems at any other time. Screams like you know what...

...I think I change my vote to Vaccum(sp)...
Any one care to ventue a guess, and possible fix while ya at it:)

I have the same problem. Turn idle screw down and is fine warm, but doesn't idle when cold...

Still haven't figured it out, but I have no colortune o YICS nor money to get them.

Do all the cylinders fire when cold? (All exhaust pipes hot)

Question: does it idle high when in neutral, too? Or, if in neutral, when you squeeze the clutch lever the idle rises and then drops when you let it back out?

In my case, in neutral the idle races too, doesnt matter where the clutch is. I have to put first and let clutch go to bring it down.

I will give that a shot soon, but may not have a chance for a bit.
    May be this weekend though

What are you thinking doc, is it broke?

In the meantime what are some of the possible senarios?
There will be sometime before I have a chance to check, and want to have all ducks(quack) in a row before jumping in the pond.

    Thanks for the replies.

The idle should be adjusted when the bike is fully warmed up. If it then doesn't idle when cold, your enrichment circuit may not be working properly, or you sync may be off.

As I mentioned in another thread, I had a racing idle problem when warm. Seeing some dribbling fuel from my petcock, I replaced the spring on the vacuum diaphragm with what turned out to be a stronger one. Didn't fix the fuel leak, but it did cure the racing idle.

Now THAT Petcock Vac leak) is interesting .
Many if not Most of these bikes have (sooner or later) the Racing Idle problem. Often it persists even after serious carb work.
Your answer/discovery is likely a V good one Thanx

Set your idle when the bike is at normal operating temperature then sync the carbs.
