Whoo temp hit 66 degrees ...pull bike out battery low. I HAD pulled charger off a couple of weeks put charger to start position after a few cranks bike started ... hop on rode about 20 miles ran great , pull into garage shut off bike try to start bike back up , barley cranked  only way to get it started was to put charger back on ... this battery was orginal so I put in the Walmart never crank battery wont crank at all ... voltage shows 11volts ... so lucky for me I have 2 chargers got both batteries charging now... tried it a few minutes ago bike started ..guess I'm going to buy a new battery... sucks I serviced both batteries to proper level last season had no issues...But think since I left batteries in cold garage and did not keep on charge on a regular basis this is my own fault ...

I bought an AGM battery about 4 years ago , has to be one of the best investments I have ever made . Bike fires like a champ every time. Have yet to buy a tender .

I've had AGM batteries for going on 25 years. You can get away with not uing a tender most of the time, but using one will greatly increase the life of the battery.

But they are soooo pretty, and make good ballast for the snow blade.

My plans for the day have been thwarted by an invasion of several million hostile microbes. Gah!

Mine started well today. Cranked very fast a bit, then remembered to set petcock to prime, turned over another second and popped off. Gotta love cheap lead acid batteries and harborfreight battery minders...

Kmoe, my wife succombed to microbes today as well. Get well soon.

So Sunday I rode about 55 miles went to buddys house got his 80 KZ1000 running...he was impressed , he has sooo many dirt bikes and quads but has never messed with a 4 cylinder street bike...thats where i come in lol...worked on Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha 4 cylinders for years...my bike ran great till I shut it down went to restart got the dreaded coffee can rattle starter clutch slipping...it has done this since last season when hot...let it cool and it starts ...figure springs or plate have issue...really don't want to split case.

Having had to bump-start mine, 300 miles from home, on a 109ºF day, I can affirm that it's worth the bother to split the cases.
