I'd rather a one year project takes 3 to 4 years than to never be finished at all.

Yup, she checked all the boxes she found out about the motorcycle and was like "so where do I sit?" She def got major points there. Now I have to plan on getting something with 2 seats. Probably a HD since I've always wanted something loud and obnoxious with 1200cc's. I don't I can mod my bike to have another person with its current setup.

Does everyone remember the complicated wiring mess?

Here is the almost finished result minus inline fuses.

Looks clean. I still have reservations about housing the voltage regluator in such a confined space. It really needs more air moving over it to keep it from cooking to death. You might consider using a CPU fan and making some subtle, but tasteful, vents.

Not sure how I could do that. There is no more space available for the regulator. CPU fans(and anything computers are my profession) are a good idea. Maybe something to promote air flow by mounting a couple 1 in case fans on the sides or use a thermoelectric heat sink plate via Peltier Cooling?

Is there room to just flip the regulator so the fins are exposed to the underside of the mounting plate? It is a road bike, so mud won't be an issue. You may need to make standoffs and fill plates to keep the topside water-free.

Not sure if I am visualizing that correctly....just flip it over? or place it outside of the bike, underneath of the electrics tray?

Cut a hole in the tray, flip the regulator, re-mount. Whether the hole is for the pigtail, or the whole regulator will be up to you, and how much clearnace there is on the other side of the tray.

Ya, I figured that it's also the fender. Tire clearance is the thing. How much room is there when the suspension is fully compressed?

Tire clearance isn't an issue at all. I have to figure something out. I really do not want to compromise the look.

Hmm....well you could try just using thermal paste under the regulator (clean the mounting surfaces really well) and maybe the plate will provide enough surface area to keep the regulator cool enough.

Maybe a small loover that scoops air into the fins of the regulator. I cant imagine it'd be that invasive on the over all look if done right. Or a small screen with a computer fan just to get enough air to circulate some air. just spit balling..

What bits are you unsure of doing out of curiosity?
