I am trying to disassemble the fork tubes on my Seca Turbo and I am having trouble removing the 8mm allen bolt on the bottom of the outer fork tubes. The manual for the Turbo does not mention the procedure and the non-turbo XJ650 forks seem to be different. I tried an impact wrench, which normally works, but did not. I really can't see too good down inside the tubes so I don't know which type of holder tool would work. I made one for the forks on my FJ600 using a threaded rod with the correct size nut on the end. But it does not fit nor work on the Turbo. Does anybody have any experience or knowledge on what type of "special tool" is needed? Or how to disassemble?

    Thanks
    TR

I always leave fork top and springs in place when I use an air gun.
Extra pressure of spring helps prevent damper rod from turning in fork.
Just let air out if it has air caps.
Loosen top caps a couple of turns if it has screw in tops.
Then let it rip if it spins I tighten it up again and give it another shot hasn't failed me yet.

Reinstalling the fork springs usually works, I usually loosen it before disassembly. I do however remember getting the special rod/hex end too from chacal to disassemble/reassemble my turbo seca forks, and I don't remember why I couldn't do it without that tool.

Now that I have one apart, I found a large nut in my "nuts n bolts" box that fits perfectly in the internal 12point Allen type bolt. I just need to weld it to a piece of threaded rod. Homemade Rube Goldberg factory tool!
