i was riding the other day. Tons of bikers out, everyone waving "hello" to each other. Then it dawned on me. How do bikers in the UK wave hello to each other. I'm assuming they dont use their right "throttle" hand. Anyone know? just curious.

i see. how do you see that though. do you wave up high above your head? seems like if you used your left hand and you are opposite each other that you wouldn't see the "wave".

Usually, yes. Hand raised above the head, normally with closed fist as in a victory salute.

We drive on the correct side of the road too ;) , left hand raised to right sholder or infront of chest, plam forward (so as to not show a "I am stopping" signal to people following). Just waving with your left hand you would be suprised how easy it is to see even if you don't lift your hand much.

or opening the right hand so your fingers show down from the grip

or The Nod esp. when you are busy riding (traffic, corners, round town).

Unless you ride a HD or BMW, then you only wave (if at all) to the correct type of bike, i.e. a HD or BMW.

I believe I saw that once in an old Monty Python sketch!
